I was born & raised in Beaufort (St Helena Island to be exact), but due to my dad being in the Army I’ve lived in multiple areas. I have 4 younger sisters and learned how to do hair from watching my mom do everyone’s hair. Eventually, I started doing my sisters’ and some friend’s hair when I was in middle school, but being a cosmetologist wasn't on my radar.
I graduated from college, Francis Marion University, in Spring of 2006 with my bachelor’s degree and thought I had my career path figured out. We all know that life has a way of changing the path you thought you was gonna take. Although, I always had a passion for hair, but didn’t pursue that passion professionally until I lost my job as a counselor due to the recession.
So I enrolled at the Technical College of the Lowcountry and I obtained my SC licensed cosmetologist in 2011. My work has been published nationally in many issues in the Sophisticate's Black Hair and Hype Hair magazines.
